I guess Bill McEwen read my business proposal, after all.  :-D

I sent it to him, today, around 4 pm. That was part of my stipulations.

[EDIT]

Did you get that from Bill's personal email-address???  :-?

You can't, anymore, but if this means, what I think it means, you'll be getting new hardware, in less than 3 months and we're not talking about ACK's piece of sh!t.

Well....I tried posting this, as a news article, but apparently, it's not considered news. I won't go into details on what's in the Business Proposal, but I hope this will make you guys realize what I was trying to do for all of us. I was tired of everyone sitting here, saying "someone should do something". My cover letter. I won't say who all received my proposal, though.

Gentlemen:

Enclosed is an outline of a 3-month, business proposal to resurge the AMIGA BRAND NAME, bringing pride back to all parties involved, the Amiga Community and the outside world, letting all know that the Amiga is not dead, but REFUSING to die, coming back with a VENGANCE. If done correctly, it can resurrect the Amiga name, bringing it back to the spotlight as an underdog, not to be under-estimated anymore. We can once again become a force to be reckoned with. This is our chance. We need to arm ourselves. It's time we start fighting back!

We need to stop the in-fighting, settle our differences and join forces. We are at WAR! This isn't a war between Amigans. This is a war against Apple, Microsoft, Linux and ANY individual or company insolent enough to make negative comments about the Amiga or the people who fiercely support it. Amiga is ready to make a comeback and by all that is holy, I'm DETERMINED to make that happen. We will re-invigorate the AMIGA BRAND NAME to new heights. We will draw new supporters. We will make new partnerships. We will prove, once and for all, that ANYONE who mocks the Amiga will suffer for it.

We need product. We need software. We need people know that we're here to stay and if you don't join with us, you will indeed die a slow, painful death in our re-birth. The Community needs to believe in you. You need to show them it's okay to be PROUD of the Amiga again. Let them know that you won't take this, lying down. Let them know that you're willing to FIGHT for what you believe in.

Take the time to read my proposal. Know that I am an Amiga Community Member. I WANT the Amiga to become the powerful entity it once was and through careful planning, we can make this happen. It will take time. It will be long and arduous, but if you prove that you're for real, this time, the Community will support you. Have faith in me and I will do the one thing that you have yet to do in this battle, we have been fighting, for years.

I'll bring you, your Army.

Come along follow me as I lead through the darkness
As I provide just enough spark that we need to proceed
Carry on, give me hope, give me strength
Come with me and I won't steer you wrong
Put your faith and your trust as I guide us through the fog
To the light at the end of the tunnel
We gonna fight, we gonna charge, we gonna stomp, we gonna march
Through the swamp, we gonna mosh through the marsh
Take us right through the doors

Excerpt, from Emimem's "MOSH".

We all need to get together, for this. Amiga, Inc, Hyperion, VOF, Individual Computers and myself need to discuss our battle plan. We need to make sure that this isn't a smoking gun, like so many promises that have come before. We need the Community to fall in line, behind us. Our voices can be heard and it's time we start SCREAMING, instead of wimpering, like we have, the past, seven years.

Thank you for your time and your consideration. It takes understanding people to hear a complete nobody out.

Sincerely yours,

Martin 'Madin' Jackson

Why are you here, then? Poor baby. When *YOU* attempt to do something positive for the community, I *REALLY* want to know about it.

And this proves what? That you have exchanged some e-mails with Bill McEven? I believe in all your words without a need of proofs. The problem is - the part you have exposed contains no facts, just some nice story. I guess you can't reveal any facts yet, so I should not estimate your credibility for now. On the other hand Amiga world is full of void promises, with Amiga Inc. being the top spreader of them. That is why I'm highly sceptical.

I notice your MorphOS avatar. I assume you have a Genesi board. I thought you'd like to know that the ONLY person who didn't respond favorably to my contact, was Bill Buck.

In fact, he didn't even respond at all. Food for thought.

Have you ever stopped to consider that "BBRV" are serious business people and dont always have time to respond to any old user email?

All I said was that I sent Bill McEwen my proposal, today and that may have had something to do with the emails being sent out. It could be *VERY* coincidental that the email went out the same day as my business proposal, which is why I said "I hope I'm not wishful thinking".

As for BBRV, well everyone else I contacted, responded the same day.

I didn't promise ANYTHING and not keep it. I didn't take your money, for nothing. I didn't do anything to prevent OS4 from coming out. God, are you ALL so soured that you can't just think that I took the initiative and did what everyone wanted someone to do?

Or it could be that he refused to work with Amiga, Inc. again. He's not exactly known for his "proper" forum activities, constantly slamming Amiga, Inc. I just stated, what I know; that I sent him a request to hear me out, as I did all the parties, involved and he's the only one that didn't respond, at all.

In fact, my original business proposal was to have OS4 ported to Efika, so there would be two, different boards on the market, at the same time. 3, actually, if ACK's boards aren't vapor, but I believe in ACK about as much as I think George W. Bush is the perfect, model President. Then again, ACK wasn't even involved in my final proposal, at all.

Don't be so nervous. Noone accuses you for void promises, taking our money, or preventing AmigaOS 4 from coming out. I'm just sceptical and a bit ironic on the subject. You are saying, that you took the initiative, but what the initiative is - nobody knows.

*laughing*

I'm not nervous. Well, actually, I am, but not for what you think. I'm nervous that they'll reject it. I don't blame you for being skeptical. I was too. In fact, I started this, the day after the whole Lawsuit fiasco began.

I'm tired of all the BS, you know? Just like everyone else. I just tried to do something about it. That's all.

For what it's worth, I'm really upset I didn't get a response from BBRV, 'cos I was hoping to finally bring the Red and Blue camps together, once and for all.  :-( Regardless of what OS you're using, be it OS4, AROS or MorphOS, I still think of us all as Amigans.

If you actually talk to BBRV, please ask him to hear me out and I'll go over my business proposal with him, too. I'd really like to have Genesi on board.

You've done well writing the e-mail, I can't see how it could hurt the current Amiga situation. I agree with the fact that all Amiga-related parties should join forces instead of irritating eachother over and over again, preventing hardware and software to materialize.

Thanks. It meant a lot to me. I poured my heart and soul into it.

Now the big problem I see in this is that all armies are lead by egos too big to wear a helmet, flexible like a cubic meter of solid steel. Getting those egos to burry their differences and actually start to co-opereate creates the need of a strong, charismatic president, respected by all. Only then I guess their might be a chance of long-term delivery of new products branded Amiga or Amiga-compatible.

You'd be surprised. At first, everyone was a bit skeptical, except for Bill McEwen. Then, after a few correspondences, they realized that I was trying to do something positive and responded favorably.

Part of my proposal was that Amiga, Inc. polish their tarnished image. I made a point to let them know that we had no faith in them, anymore. That we needed to know that they were for real, this time. I hope I made some head-way.

Quote

My guess would be that the first to deliver new Amiga hardware could well become that president needed. (So Dennis, release the Minimig ;-)).

Hans-Joerg told me, in our converstaions, that it would be an estimated 2 months to port OS4 to the "mystery device", possibly less if they got support from Amiga, Inc. As for a "Retro" Amiga, don't worry, it's taken care of. :-)

Quote

Personally, my financial situation at the moment is as such that I do have to wait 'till summer just to be able to by a new Amiga so I've no problem to give them another 3 to 4 months the benefit of the doubt.

If they follow my proposal, you're looking at a new board, bundled with OS4, for less than 500$.

[EDIT] - That price on the board, bundled with OS4 depends on whether or not you have a coupon and what version of OS4 you get. My proposal called for two, different Retail Versions.
