As for other software, have you looked into Back 2 Roots?

Do you have another computer? Perhaps UAE might be a better use for you... You can look into AmigaForever from cloanto. I believe they have a package where you can purchase the Legal ROMS & OS for them if you are planning on using UAE on something other then their supported platforms.
As for the PS2? I've got one, although I've been playing more with my Dreamcast and GameCube.
My PS2 mostly serves as a second DVD player.
