Hi,

Almost don' know where to start. I have that modem working thru a high speed ser port and work ok.
How do you have genisis set up? Most isp,s you need to run the login script wich asks for account
name and password, once saved it's auto.

I have A2000 + TeleTerm and Term 4.3 with USR 56K external COM modem.
I tried to dial a number with default settings but didn't work :(
"TR" LED turns on when I open those programs though.

I had forgotten about this old thread. Try settings above and if using the stock Serial port drop the speed down.

My experience with my USR 56k Sportster was I got the best results using baudbandit.device.  I do not recall if I used 38,400 or 19,200.  On a faster machine I was able to run 57,600, and you will definitely be able to run faster if you use a real serial card (ASDG, for instance.)

I'm running an IOBlix in my 2000 & 4000T so speed is not an issue.

Who is actually offering dialup services these days? Modems usually follow (followed?) the AT-command set. First, make sure the serial speed of the modem fits that of the machine.

Then type in the terminal window "ATZ" which the modem should respond with "OK".

You can dial a number with the "ATD" command, i.e. "ATD0000000" where the zeros have to be replaced by the number of the dialup service. If something like this even exists today.

Modems died out like 15 years ago.

Lol, I only use it for a FAX now. GPFax works well.
