I'm struggling on Amiga.org with Voyager 2.96.7, I know it's old
(©1995-1998 Oliver Wagner).
I'm just about managing but the avat editing section and the place to
upload pictures has Javascript and refuses to go anywhere.
Is there no way to upload via an FTP or do I have to upgrade to
IBrowse 2.x?

Too ancient.
Use Ibrowse 2.3 instead (or even AWeb 3.5 or Voyager 3.3.126)
Bye

Well it's ancient but farely stable compared to the others on my
system, otherwise I would have upgraded by now.
Voyager 3 eats ChipRAM for breakfast and AWeb3 crashes on bootup. As
for IBrowse it always seemed a little rough around the edges.
Not sure I trust Voyager completely though - it seems to relay data on
exit. Didn't Miami do this according to some hacker group who
investigated the internals?
Also, the Ibrowse author seems to make too many excuses for leaving
things out of the latest edition "Might be in AmigaOne" version etc.
I hear there's squabbling in the AWeb camp, is this true?
What's the cheapest browser though?
-
Aweb, that's opensource freeware nowadays AFAIK.

I haven't tested uploading an avatar, but the newest AWeb beta seems to work nicely in general. Give it a go at least.
Here's a screenshot (http://ajk.daug.net/os4/aweb.png) I took of amigaworld.net (a suitably complicated site for testing the html engine :-)) - the white squares are due to some issues with the gif datatype, they should of course be transparent.

@Hyperspeed
Greetings, Download Ibrowse 2.3. It's a lot stable and good for updating your avatars. I just recently upgraded mine(avatar) using Ibrowse. Should have minimal problems.
Aweb, the new beta seems to crash unlike v3.4. I'll go back to that version for now. It's much stable.
Voyager, I only use this on sites with flash. but does not work too well and, like Aweb, crashes.
Cheers! :-)
