Hum,
it looks like 62-year-old Scaled Composites (http://www.scaled.com/projects/tierone/062104.htm) vice-president Mike Melvill, a professional test pilot from South Africa with U.S. citizenship, will rocket into the record books to become the first civilian to fly a spaceship out of Earth's atmosphere.
You can watch it via MSNBC live webcast (http://video.msn.com/launch.htm?c=live&t=live#) at 9:30AM EDT.

Yes!
SpaceShipOne has completed its historic flight and has safely landed.
SpaceShipOne reached its projected altitude of 100 kilometers, even though its engine cut off early.
This is the first private manned space flight.
This is history in the making...Onwards to the stars!
[sry, for giving the ending away]

I dunno why, but I had Wallace and Grommits Grand Day Out in my mind..
Just the bit where they`re in the rocket, but not going anywhere, then Grommit remembers to release the handbrake
Glad to hear they done it and come back safely, I bet there`s one hell of a party going on over there.

Hi,
There are 2 main contender on the race.
DA VINCI project will begin on Oct. 2, 2004.
STC Rubicon project had failed on August 2004.
A crash test dummy is destroyed and the head is auctioned on E-Bay.
SpaceShip one have US$ 25 M investment from Paul Allen, the founder of Microsoft. Total investment on STC is only 220 thousand Dollar.
Is this similar competition between giant PC Vendors/APPLE vs Amiga Inc/Genesi?
Will Amiga1 / Pegasos user became crash test dummies?
If Amiga1 or Pegasos exploded, will Amiga Inc/Genesi sell the user's head on E-Bay?
