It's called Pepakura Designer (http://www.e-cardmodel.com/pepakura-en/).
Download it.
Download some models for it.
Print them out, and you may fold them into really great looking 3D models!
:-D I think I've found a new hobby!
Here's a preview of what it my do for you:

Enjoy!

Find more about it. And see some more models for it here. (http://www.newsjuice.net/html/modules/news/article.php?storyid=251)

Looks cool! :-)
I have not read the articles, nor downloaded the files yet, but is there any way of using your own 3D models (in which formats?) for this in any way?
-
Whoa!!! I just noticed that I have passed the 1000 posts mark (some 6 posts ago or so)! :-o :-o :-) :-D :pint:

From memory, I think the person who introduced me to this program told me that it will load .dxf files and 3DS MAX files.
It will probably import more than that, though.
(OT: I just noticed a rather curious feature, shortly after I refreshed this page, with your msg on it, it refreshed a second time to show your second msg)

This could actually be a **quite usable** application! I need to check this out some more ...! :-)

Hmm, is this some new cool Xoops2 feature? :-o

Hmm.. No demo ? Or am I overlooking something ?

... and you also need to run IEradicator - available here (http://www.litepc.com/ieradicator.html).
But you should probably download Mozilla before you do that!

Hmm not a good idea i think, you would end up with a machine less secure than one with IE in the long run, try using windows update with a browser other than IE.
-
I would rather like a program that did the reverse.... making a 3d model from a picture :-)
-
That's a fair point about Windows update. But I still like my faster starting W2K - and after turning off that stupid, bloody annoying OS Messenger service and installing Mozilla, my internet browsing has been as good as a 56K modem can deliver.

How has this turned into a Windows bashing thread :-(

So says the guy with the Osama-Bush Laden avatar. ;-)
Many programs rely on IE DLL files. I wouldn't dare remove it. In the control panel, you can deselect the checkbox that makes IE check if it's the default browser. That shuts it up for good. No, really.
As for the model program... THAT'S AWESOME. Almost as awesome as this: Soda Play! (http://www.sodaplay.com/)
-
Looks like a really cool problem. I don't have time for a new hobby though! :-o

Haha, I tried it and several of my games no longer work including AF 6.1, WarBlade and Slamtilt_PC. Can't live long without games on the PC, thats mostly what its for.

Now now just because it's a win32 application doesnt automatically make it problematic :-D
j/k

Back again - I didn't mean to turn this into a windows bashing thread... much. It's just that I was stuck with IE for a little while as I was waiting for Mozilla 1.7 - it wasn't a long wait really, it just felt that way.
And I appologize to anyone who uses IEradicator on my recommendation and then experiences trouble with running other programs. If this is the case and you used IEradicator from LitePC.com, feedback can be left at that site.
