Title: amiga 500 scsi hd problem

i have installed a 3.1rom in my a500
i hope to get my scsi hd (IVS Trumpcard with 40mb quantum) to work. first hdtoolbox didnt find my scsi controller after changing scsi.device to ivs_scsi.device according to the manual the program finds the disk, but after preparing/partitioning (low level format takes about 2 sek.is that normal???) the hard disk i get no dh0:????
in my workbench, how to salv this problem???? help

is it possible to connect newer hd drive with adapter

Well I don't know much about the TrumpCard.
I had a RocTec Rochard controller on my A500.
Anyway, Yes it should take more than just a couple
seconds to Low Level format a 40 meg drive, as a guess
I'd say 5 minutes or so, maybe a little less.
I had a 1 gig Conner drive on my A500 with OS 3.1.
With OS 3.1 you probably could run up to a 4 gig drive,
but that could also depend on your TrumpCard controller.

Have you tried selecting DH0:??? then doing a format from the workbench menu bar?

the dh0:???? dont show up on workbech after setting the drive up, i dont think hdtoolbox is formating the drive.
when i am jusing the orginal software that came with the drive the low level format takes about 3-5 min but i dont get any dh0:???? :-?

Hello !

I have a problem with my Roctec - it just don't wont to autoboot !
I was fighting with it many times and still nothing :(
I have second controller - Macrosystem Multievolution 500 and everything is ok wnen it is attached !
I have kick 37.300 and HDD SCSI installed in roctec !
Help !
