From BBC News:
Fans held after fresh clashes (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/3810783.stm)
Yet more trouble that brings a bad name to football and England.

According to Sky News this morning (/me hugs his cable tv :-D ) the 12 arrestees from monday will be in court today and sent home in a few days. You can expect the same to happen to this lot of idiots aswell.
--edit--
I say don't let them get back here, send them over to Iraq and get them to do something usefull.

Makes me feel ashamed to be English. Associated with these losers. But so long as alcohol sales go up, the quality of eduction goes down and the government and media continue to stir up racial hatred and xenophobia, we'll continue spewing out this sort of trash into the world. All I can say is, on behalf of my country, I apologise.

Idiots.
Everyone else seems to be able to turn up and watch a footie game, but we English have had a special reputation for turning it into an excuse to get bad suntans, go drinking and end up fighting some foreigners who we might / might not have had a war with at some point in the last millenia.
And unfortunately that reputation looks remain intact for the forseeable future...
I'm open to suggestions as to what to do with these useless cretins?
Charge them with treason?

Well, that's exactly it. Getting drunk and starting riots is now part of the England fan ethos, and changing it is going to be very difficult. Uefa wanted to kick the England team out of the competition to shock people into changing their ways, but since this violence is not match-related they can't. Maybe they still should. All it would take is once or twice being shamed in this way to throw a bucket of water over that kind of nationalist crap and teach that small hooligan contingent once and for all they'll only be hurting their own pride.

Hoya!
I have a solution.
Ban football.
Be funky

How many times have you heard English people spouting anti French, German, Scottish, Welsh, Irish, American ad infinitum prejudice based on national stereotyping and/or the fact that we may well have once had a conflict with any one of a number of countries?
Certain gutter tabloids exploit this and national pride turns ugly. That, mixed with the need to go abroad and treat the place like we own it conspires to make the situation worse.
I feel ashamed to be of the same nationality as these mindless pricks that feel the need to show their patriotism by behaving like thugs. Maybe if we did get thrown out the competition the idiot element will learn to show proper respect when abroad?
