Title: Gutted.........
Post by: CU_AMiGA on June 14, 2004, 12:39:00 PM
Watched the GAME yesterday.....

England 1 France 2

For 90 minutes England seemed as though they were gonna pull off an unlikely and spectacular victory against the reigning european champions, France. But it was not to be as France capitalised on 2 goals in the dying seconds of injury time following some sloppy play. :-(

England v France was nothing to get excited about. The big event of Sunday was WWE Bad Blood!  :-D

I did watch the match, and threw me remote out the window when Zidane scored the penalty, but I stayed up until the early hours to get live Bad Blood results from the internet  :-)

It's nothing to get excited about, England has never won a first game in any European Cup.  A team of 10 year olds would have beaten them.

England will just beat France in the final anyway.

Every Euro and World Cup England qualify for, you can be sure of two things:

1) They'll always expect they'll be in the final.

2) They never are.

Apart from one fluke before most of us were born, as the commentators love to remind us, that is.

Football could be extinct and they'd still be going on about it.

Even F1 is getting predictive these days...

 1. Schuey will win.
 2. Sato will blow an engine.
 3. Coultard gets rammed up the backside.

We need old Murray Walker back, his "kiss of death" commentary always spiced up the race..
"Aaaaaand takes the lead", then 10 secs later, driver X would blow a tyre or engine..
Remember the amount of times Damon Hill broke down on the last lap, shortly after Murray said "Only 3 corners left, nothing can stop him now.."

The commentators pretty much put the bad luck on you guys, with comments like "The french manager is gonna hear 1-0, 1-0, 1-0 all the time no matter what ground Tottenham play at" and "England have never won there opening game in a major event" saying this around the 70 to 80th minute.
Blame Bobby R and the gang :)

Having said that, great game to watch,  reminded me alittle of Man U vs B/Munich in the '99 Champs league final.
Never over until the whistle is blown

Same ere. But the commentator jinxed the game when he said about "1-0, 1-0". :-(

Known in the F1 world as "Murray Walker Syndrome"
