I don't know if this has been posted at all, so I decided to post it. Anyhow, it seems that a new Pirates will be coming out next year! Sid Meier is involved with developing the game (atari and Firaxis enterprise type thingy).
Now one can only hope that this may see the light of day for our new Amigas. His decision, as you will read, to redevelop the game comes about as the result of requests from gamers who dearly would love to see the game up and running with new graphics etc. maybe if all Amigans can band together, we can try to persuade Mr Meier to port this for us too! I know I would love to play this game again... God knows how many Winter weekends (and many other days and weekends) I lost to playing this game when it came out all those years ago!

Yes!!! Now we´re talking!! :)

Everyone. Send those mails in.
I would buy this in a second.

Frm the screen shots it appears to be pretty much the same game as the origianl but with updated graphics. I hope they add loads of new features :-)
Yes I'm buying this game, since I have the original.

@ bloodline
Yep, the new game will have better features (i.e. new methods of interaction with characters, new fighting styles etc). I'll be buying it as soon as it comes out for the PC, but wouldn't it be nice if it came out for the newer Amigas (A1's and Peggies, and for emulation UAE and AROS ;-) ). So please all write an email to 'em, we can only try, even if it wishful thinking.

I don't mind which platform this comes to; I'll buy it anyway! WOO!(http://www.warofthering.net/forums/vbulletin225/upload/images/smilies/swordfight.gif)

Wow thats cool. I hope to see it for th ePeg as well as the A1. It would be a great release. I played this game so much in the past!
-
This was such a cool game. It still sits next to my keyboard among a small pile of frequently used games. :)
I looked at the firaxis site for contact info and all i came up with was thier feedback page so i sent them a note asking them to port it to Amiga.

Maybe if enough of us respond they will do it? :)

Well, despite one can be sure that our hundred or so e-mails (if at all) won't change anything, I think spending a minute on this can't hurt either - at least they'll wonder "what the f*ck is a Pegasos?!?" :-)
Anyway, I'll buy that game definitively, even for Windows. I wish Genesi had still tons of money and the good relationship with Atari they claimed to have in the past...

Let me just say that I am not into playing games on the computer (I DO have more important things to do). However, Pirates is THEE only game I did and would waste my time playing. The multiple things you have to do and the completely open choices on how you play made this game almost like...life. I'm already getting my $50 ready.
