What is the max 2.5 Hard Disk capacity for A600 with wb2.1?
:)
-
Depends on your kickstart version.. v37.300 supports only up to about 40MB and v37.350 has no size limit (except 4GB with default filesystem)

damn i have v37.300 :-?

You should then get newer ROMs or maybe even 3.1 :-)

I dont belive 37.300 has the limit. I used my mates a600 for a short time with a 120mb hd. Its 37.299 that has the limit (my own a600). I softkick it with 3.1 though .i lose 512mb of chipmem(2mb total) , but ...it works ;)

37.299 is missing the scsi.device completely so the HD is not bootable. Some pages say that the limit on 37.300 is 40MB but many have said to be using 40-200MB drives without problems..
See here for example. (http://www.gregdonner.org/workbench/wb_205.html)
Ofcourse you can always try it yourself :-)

Yes i recall making a boot disk for my a600 which mounts the hd partitions (made under 3.1) using mountlists scsi.device ripped from kick3.1. Of course that means initialy booting from floppy disk, but since that is just mounting partitions and then giving all control to the workbench partition on hd to boot from there ..it didnt add much to the boot time.
