Title: Subway USB
Post by: jimmy_n on June 12, 2004, 02:32:09 PM
Hi,

Been away from the amiga scene for a long time, but considering getting a subway usb interface for my old A1200 that hasn't seen the light of day in ages.

I was wondering if I would be able to transfer images from my digital camera to the a1200 which has a blizzard 1220/4 card, and also whether I could use a USB ethernet adpater to connect the amiga to my broadband router and use the net?  The digital camera I have is a Sony Cybershot U, which takes memory sticks but does not have a separate memory stick ready, it connects directly to a usb port.  Does anyone know if this is possible?  Might be the last hope for my old a1200 before i stick it on ebay.  TIA.

Digital cameras usually identify themselves as mass storage devices on the USB bus and this will work fine with the Subway. Another indication is whether the camera needs special drivers for Windows. If it does not, it probably will work with the Subway.

Ethernet adapters won't work. You should rather use a PCMCIA NIC which works well if you take one which is supported by the drivers.
