Title: A500 FDD in A1200?
Post by: manicx on June 08, 2004, 10:17:30 AM
Does it fit or is it bigger? My A1200's FDD is dead and I was thinking if I can find one from a A500 and use that instead without cutting the case...

An A500 FD doesn't fit in the A1200.

Well, the Amiga was an AT A1200. AT used modified PC FDDs with a slight modification in the A1200 mobo. This floppy was crap and I couldn't play most of the games I love. Therefore, I decided to modify the mobo and the floppy. I couldn't do the floppy modification since it was kinda hard for me so I gave it to a friend. He failed to do it properly. Anyway, the mobo was modified ok by me and I only need a floppy. I can buy a new for 30EUR, but still, I can find a second hand A1200 with that....
