Ok after having a load of trouble with a startup sequence line i just decided to erase birdie and visualprefs then install them again.Ok i was reading in visualprefs that you need to set the background pen to zero but how do you do this??
I got a theme which uses visualprefs and birdie from haymiggan and it says to put the files in my dh0 partion but i dont actually have one named that.so when i put them in my os3.9 folder it says cant load blah blah from dh0 so what can i do about that???
Thanks

Type this in the Startup Sequence before Visual Prefs and Birdie begin to boot:
ASSIGN DH0: OS3.9:
or what ever the name of your Harddrive is
It will make VisualPrefs and Birdie think that your OS3.9 partition is actually DH0

Thankyou Thank you,thanks again :-D

This is doing my head in,ok i added this line to my startup sequence but i dont get any pattern in the window...c:run<>nil:c:birdie dh0/birdiepatterns/active.png PUBSCREENS REDRAWBITMAPS
Ok so since i wrote that assign should i leave the above as dho or change it to os3.9???

I think what they mean by the color Zero is that what ever the color for your plain WorkBench background is....choose that color to be the first color on the pallete requestor or in Visual Prefs. Color Zero is the first color there.....not #1 it starts with Zero, then one, then two etc...

Hi Gav
i suggest you to install FullPalette and BirdiePrefs (a GUI for Birdie where you can see in RT all the changes.
Bye

Well the main is the damn starup sequence because when i place the line for birdie under iprefs i can see the paterns in the window bar and its all fine.Even when i reset it still works but then if i power off and on again it just keeps rebooting until i take that line out which is big pain since i have to keep hooking it to my tv for the video out.
So does anyone know whats up with it?
Thanks

Get snoopDos to see what is the last thing executed before it reboots! then you might know if something is conflicting

Hi
put the Birdie line, in User-startup.
