Suddenly both A1 and the PegasosII look inneficient in terms of power consumption, compared to this (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/06/04/transmeta_90nm/) litle gem! Power consumption 0.25-0.3 Watt while running at 1600MHz... and it still is x86 compatible...

Is that a AROS-machine in your pocket or...? :-D

No I'm not ranting in favour of any OS with this post.
It's rather a question to both Genesi and Eyetech "Why would any company prefer your PPC solutions for their embended products, rather this, somewhat proven, x86 compatible that draws less energy".
-
"Demonstrating the technology in public for the first time, the company was able to reduce Efficeon's in-sleep power consumption from around 0.25W to under 0.03W."
Sounds like this is the power consumption when the processor is in it's sleep mode. Still a great number but it would use a lot more power when it was running at full load.

OOPS! I'm such a moron! Thanx for the correction.

Nobody is perfect :-D
Besides, it´s only Monday, the week has just started so a lot of us probably need some time to boot up our brain after another week-end :-D
