Title: Recommended Heat Sink/Fan for an WarpEngine 4040 on the A4000
Post by: shaf on June 01, 2004, 01:50:49 AM
Hello,

Recently I bought a WarpEngine 4040 to replace my A3640 card in my A4000. I have heard the the 40 MHz 68040 runs much hotter, can anyone recommend a good heatsink/Fan Combo that will fit properly on the board when installed in a PowerTower case.

Also how good is the onboard SCSI adapter or should I keep my A2091 with GuruROM?

Thanks

Shaf

I'm using, what seems to me as, the simplest form of heatsink/fan combo on both my 40 MHz 68040s. Looks exactly like
the types that sat on top of old Pentium 1s.

Well, it's faster than my Cyberstorm 68040 MKI SCSI controller. IIRC, it was reckoned as one of the fastest SCSI options
for the Amiga 4000 before the Cyberstorm PPCs came.

The A2091 is by the way considered as performing badly (http://www.amiga-hardware.com/a2091.html) in the A4000.
