I finally got hold of a HDD! but... erm ...
I'm returning to the scene after 10 years of absence and...
I have a stock A1200 with an 2.1Gb HDD with 2 partitions [ 100mb / 2Gb ] ROM 3.0, WB 3.1
I can't managed to format with SFS file system ( i read and tried various tutorials from many threads from this forum but i just get a Not DOS disk) and about my Network, i've managed to install AmiTCP and i can ping either my miggy at the PC and ping the PC on the miggy but Genesis refuses to run... I tried Samba but i can't install it...
erm... help?
update: Aexplorer works fine w/ serial but with the NIC i get an ' program filed (error #000000004) '

If you've got AmiTCP running, why do you want Genesis? It'll only eat up a lot more memory, which you don't have a lot of.
Also, running OS3.1 on 3.0 ROMs might cause problems.

Hum... so what kind of program should i use to transfer files from the miggy to the PC and vice versa?, a program that could allow me to Map the miggy drives in the PC?

Help! :-(

Hello EnyGmaTiK,
I think your best bet would be to purchase Amiga Forever 6 cd, If you're willing to wait a bit. It has Amiga explorer that would work both ways PC<->Miggy. Hope that helps.
Good day to all Amigans! :-D

You can also buy Amiga Explorer seperately if all you want to do is to share files and don't need/want emulation. Take a look at Cloanto's on-line store (http://www.amigaforever.com/shop/).

Why don't you go the other way and map the PC drives to the Amiga ? This way you could use "smbfs" (found in the Aminet) to map the shared drives of your PC to the Amiga and access them with any filemanager (e.g. DirOpus or DiskMaster).

I tried smbfs as well.... no luck... completly noob here...
As for the SFS file system i've grabbed Smart Filesystem v1.214 and i followed every step, but when i chooce SFS/00, i just came up with ' Not DOS Disk '
