Its been years since I last saw it. My pride and my joy. The computer that brought fun to my childhood and a tool of knowledge that formed me as I am today. Amiga the computer I adored for its loud floppy drive, 5 second wait and you have already played. That time has passed as my father sold it for hard cold cash just before my innocent child eyes. Oh the pain it caused me.
Yes amiga influenced me as it did many. I remember the times when I played on it and used those first gfx and music creation software. The joy of colour and sound. Do you remember those times? Do you? Well I sure do. I'am a frequent amiga emulator user in a search for a specific game. But that I will ask for in other forums.
Well as I told I had an amiga computer (amiga 500+ than 1200 AGA) in my childhood so I really love it. It stayed in my heart and its not moving out. Simplicity of it was amazing. Just inserting the floppy inside the drive and awaited few loud yet happy thrilling seconds and you already played your favourite game. Yes there was a OS just like computers all have now but it was not neceacery (well not completly... For some things you needed it :) But yet even when you used it it did not hold you back to do what you wanted. No drivers, no additional software, no installation needed (on most of the games and applications as far as I know) and no 뼴戒⇤鄖랛믵 viruses!
Well this is the sad story of me and my time with amiga. Hope to see you in the forums :)

ok, this beats Glock's introductory thread for the wierdest, lol.
And you'll find /most/ people here use the OS, have a virus checker, have device drivers, and plenty of additional software!

-
I dont sleep at that hour...
I hardly sleep at all if Im honest.
But I started crying on Rank1's song T.T.C. ...
It was an unusual reponce :)
Oh the avatar is actually me. I pushed my sorry self under the scanner. Then I manipulated the pic a little bit...
I am one disturbed MoFo but that is just a normal responce to the amiga embargo. Im just wondering about AmigaOS now. Where, how, what it is and what it needs...
Plus is there by any chance any programming languages on AMiga. Id like to make a RPG game...

Amiga OS 4.0 is coming out shortly (the developers buggy release has been made and i *think* distributed)
Hyperion have made it, i *think*
It's a fancier version of OS 3.9 with stuff that can rival basic windows xp tasks [just saying]
It needs a larger amount of people to be interested [not going to happen], programs [there are quite a few developers left], and one BILLION DOLLARS :-) [pray for a miracle]

Emm, i think there's Blitz or something like that...
-
Amiga obviously has languages like C available. Blitz is a cool language to code small stuff with though.
AOS3.x will run on a Classic Amiga (A500:s and other Commodore models), 4.x will require an AmigaOne or a PPC-accelerated Classic Amiga.
Info about the new systems found at IntuitionBase (http://www.intuitionbase.com) :-)

Thnx for the link. What I read was impresive. Now I just cant wait for it.
/me cant wait for the releases.
People expect an ass-kicking RPG game in a few years...
