These CD's are for the people that have bought an A1 board.  These CD's are a "Developer Pre-release" this is not the final release of OS 4.  So, if you would like one . .  .then you may wish to talk with a dealer in your area.  I am not sure at this time, if the CD will come with a new A1 board.  So in answer to your question the cost is may be buying an A1 board.

Xactly.

Bout time we saw some SOLID evidence on OS4 (well at least as solid as it gets anyway).

Besides, if they are "phonies", i can still gloat to the lads in work about my future computer/os :-)

Does this version of AmigaOS 4.0 has a native graphics system or it is still emulated?

I mean, it's nice that they're putting in the effort to make the CDs look good, but to be honest, I don't see the point. It's a pre-release - I really don't care how the box looks. CDRs with handwritten labels would have been fine with me.

Well, Kudos to Hyperion all the same. I'm looking forward to playing with this one. :-)

because maybe it's always good to be and act professionally. "even" if it's "only" a pre-release?

P96 will still be 68k, as the native PPC-Version of P96 is not ready for the public yet. Only one of the AOne at the last show in germany where ArtEffect OS4 was shown had native P96, but it stilll had some screenupdateproblems, looked quite fast though.

Well, you better hurry up and get that webcam mounted on the mailbox. Wouldn't want to miss the mailman when he delivers it.
Have to try that with Santa and the Easter Bunny...

But it's the first public release of AOS4, going out not just to developers (despite the label), but to all AmigaOne owners. So it's a real milestone. Maybe it'll be quite a while before the next version is released on disks, so I guess they wanted to do this one in style. And isn't KMOS supposed to "go public" this month? Probably only coincidense, but having nicely printed disks in hand for photo-ops would be a plus.
