Should i have a fan or something in my 1200 060/mediator tower,or do i not really need one for such a machine?
Thanks

cooling always helps :-D

I'd say a 060 should ALWAYS have some kind of cooling, at least a small cooling plate but preferably coolingplate and fan if it fits. Why? Not becuase the CPU requier it but becuase it will give the CPU a longer life. If the 060 is overclocked you definitly should have extra cooling on it even if some turboboards overclocked from factory don't come with this originaly.

Hmm ok i was thinking that myself, well i dont know much about fans or plates whatever they are so where do i buy a cooling plate from??How do i attach it to the cpu????
Thanks

A Pentium heatsink from an old PC will probably fit. Many 486 heatsinks will do, if a little bit small though.
If you have trouble fitting the heatsink over the CPU, then a Dremel might be usefull for cutting the heatsink. Just don't damage the surface that will be touching the CPU as it is important that the heatsink have full contact with the CPU, especially at the center, to function properly.

To fitt the heatsink to the CPU you will probably have to glue it. For that you need a heat conductive glue. As an alternativ to such glue is to use heat conductive paste and a small amount of epoxy to keep the heatsink in place. Don't let the paste and the epoxy to mix as it will get messy then.

a bit of cooling never did anyone any harm, get a fan

Hi,
No, don't glue that. you want heat sink grease, a zinc compound that conducts heat. I got My heatsink/fan from Software Hut. It came with clips that hold it to the cpu.
