Ok, i'm still having problems with my cgx64_3d card. It works beautifully with 8 bit screenmodes, I can't seem to get it to display in anything else. Ran the installation a couple of times, stil the same. Anyone out there got an A2000 with a cgx64_3d card in it? I really need some help!

Should have a program in the Prefs drawer called
"CGraphX Mode" after a fresh install. Just go in
there and select the applicable screen mode you
may need to build a specific KHz driver and put
it in your devs/monitors drawer (on some monitors).
Also check your "Screen Mode" preferences and see
what they are set at. It's tough to guess your
problem without knowing what kind of monitor and
what version of CGFX.

Hi ikepgh, thanks for trying to help. I'm running CGX V4.something on an NEC Multisync FE700 monitor. If I go into cgxmode and select anything other than 8 bit and try to use it, the screen just goes black. Seems I heard somewhere that WB can only display 8 bit? Kinda grabbing at straws so to speak, don't know a whole lot about the Amiga technicalities. Thanks again. :-D

Hmm... does your monitor go black, or lose signal? If you have a monitor that can display the screen frequency from the On-Screen menus, check that.
There's a monitor file in CyberGraphX (I forget exactly where) that specifies screen frequencies. Perhaps you don't have the proper one set for your monitor, and it is going out of range, hence the monitor can't display anything.
You can most certainly run Workbench in 16 or 24 bit on a CGX3d. I do.
(Also, if you upgraded to CGX4 from a previous version, you may want to go back and make sure ALL files updated properly. (Check version numbers) I ran into a bug like that with mine. Similiar, only I lost all my Amiga chipset generated screens to blackness.)

i use an CyberVision64/3D, and i use 16 color
use CGXMode, and adjust or create a resolution that will work with _your_ monitor
the defult screenmodes are pretty lousy
have a look at the 8 bit mode you are using and try to set up the same timing for a 16bit mode of the same resolution
basically thats all you need to change... is the timing
the manual for your monitor might be able to help

Thanks to all of you! I'll try these ideas tomorrow evening after work and let you know what happens. @Ilwrath....the screen just goes dark, completely. Thanks again.

YeeeeeHa! Finally got 16 bit mode to work. Amiga.org looks a WHOLE lot better in 16 bit. Thank you all for helping me! Now, on to 24 bit!
