Does anybody know how to connect an external floppy drive as df0 to Amiga 1000?
TIA. Apache2k.

Hi
No way, except if you open the case :-D

There are several apps on Aminet that would let you boot from an external drive though. Take a look and see what pops up these days. If I rmember correctly I used to do it on my old A1000 back in the day.
-
What happened to the internal drive? did it croak?
-
well,, i dont know but its turning and doing the floppy stuff then nothing happens.. even the bootdisk ( my a500 can read it.) i am assuming that its broken..
-
Wasn't there a jumper for this? Hmm well, its been too long, but I was doing that at one point.
-
Thats what i was hoping, cos in the internal floppy there are also alot of jumpers..
Its very difficult to find just one internal original a1000 floppy, that would be the best solution for me but.....

EDIT - Sorry double post :-(.

I need more help.
It looks like the floppy if working fine, i did change an internal floppy of a500 and its doing still the same.
I still see the hand and kickstart symbol after a while.
I think is more like a software problem now.
Next step where can i buy a working a1000 kickstart disk?
TIA Apache2k

If you've got a working Amiga then you can create one from a kickstart file... there's a program on the aminet to do just that and it got my A1000 booting perfectly again. Can't remember what it's called but it's easy to find - any problems then I`ll dig it out for you.

Hi
take a look HERE (http://theweeks.org/toms-stuff/files/TDTTS_A500_Floppy-swap.txt)
It is for A500 but, could be useful anyway.

If there is something wrong with your system you may see the following colours.
* Red: An error was found in the ROM.
* Green: An error was found in Chip ram.
* Blue: An error was found in the custom chips.
* Yellow: The CPU has found an error before the error trapping software (Guru) has been activated.
:-x
Try reseating the ROM maybe?
-edit- OOps, forgot its a A1K. You need another kickstart perhaps.
