Title: AMIRC and DCC
Post by: FrankBrana on May 16, 2004, 08:49:44 AM
Hi dudes

The main problem is that I cant sedn any DCC files, but I can recieve them.

I have Amirc 3.5, MIami and a router 3COM 812. I dunno what ports are used for that task, but I have been told that its a range, and its user selectable under Amirc 3.5, but I can see the option actually.

Any other subjets of the bet conecttion are ok.

I know its a stupid question, but, I do need get the DCC send to work. What I can do/check?

Thank you in advance

-FrankB

I have the same router and the same problem with AmIRC here. What I did on my PC with Windows xchat was to set 4500 as the only one port for DCC sending, then I accessed router's configuration and opened TCP and UDP ports numbered 4500. It worked flawessly, however I am unable to find such an option on AmIRC (in order to limit the range) nor I don't know the exact range that AmIRC uses. Hope it helps. See you.

you need probably a newer AmIRC version which is only available for registered users. Then you have a network page in the settingswindows there you can set the portrange:

The same problems here when I got working my Amiga Lan. It puzzled me for a month or so till I found that there is an env-variable that has to be set for the port-range.

So I my borther and I wrote a script (http://wuarchive.wustl.edu/pub/aminet/comm/irc/SetTIADCC.readme) for this to be done automatically.
You`ll need Miami as TCP/IP stack. Happy DCCing ;-)
