I recently installed Word Perfect on my a500/A530 WB2.1. I had it given to me ages ago, but never really gave it much thought, as I had Final Copy, and now usually use MS Office for Word processing, database, spreadsheet etc. I normal reserve the Amiga strictly for defending the galaxy from those rotten Ketars...
(Ahem) Excuse me, as I was saying, the kids like to hog the PC for their games, and sometimes I like to work on stuff from work at home, and I use the Amiga for simple Word Processing. I send the documents to my PC later via serial connection as simple ASCI text files for reformatting into Word and emailing to work.
I wished to try WP because it exports files to IBM WordPerfect 4.x. I discovered that MS Word 2000 only imports as early as WP 5.x and up.
So much for that idea, but I also discovered that WP leaves garbage on the screen from movements of the curser.
Is there an Amiga Word Processor that will import/export files in MS Word usable format?
I am also curious on compatible spreadsheets for Excel, and databases for Access.
I am only on WB 2.1.

Well, there ya go, upgrade and support the community!
(Sorry, I have no specific answers aside from doing the (ASCII) route

I think you're already using it. Final Copy's RTF export has always worked reasonably well, for me. It's not perfect.... Sometimes margins get hosed, or tabs come out a bit weird... But all the bold, italics, bullets, etc, are preserved. It is a lot less editing than anything else I've tried.

Digita's Wordworth 7 will save to WordPerfect 5.1 format and RTF format for easy exporting to Word on the PC.
Quoted from the Wordworth 7 review (http://wuarchive.wustl.edu/aminet/docs/rview/Wordworth7.txt) on Aminet:
Wordworth saves in its own IFF format WTXT and can also save in ASCII, WordPerfect 5.1, RTF, Template or the older Wordworth 3 format. It cannot save in MS Word format due to Microsoft's insistance on keeping the Word format to itself and changing the format everytime a new version appears.
Not sure about earlier versions of Wordworth though.
Steve.
