Just wondering really lol but anyways im 21...
-
Youngest will be ~ 15/18
Oldest will be ~ 60-65 I'm guessing...
-
For the record I've just turned 30.
Have been an Amiga user since February 1990 and counting...
-
I'd say sir_inferno would be the youngest (14 iirc). Well, of the regular posters anyway.
-
I'm one of the older ones on #amiga.org at 26 :-(
But I feel younger on www.amiga.org :-P
-
Dunno, but IIRC the last time the subject came up the youngest was ~12 and the oldest was 70something.. That was a couple years ago I think, so we have all aged since then:-)
I'm clocked it an 32, but all bodily functions are still working so I'm not complaining:-P
-
I'm 16. I'm 17 on August 19th. :-D

Is that clocked or over-clocked?
Sorry, mustn't chuckle... Just celebrated a landmark birthday myself...
Doesn't it make you think that there are people posting here who are actually younger than some of the machines we still use?
:-o :insane:
-
;-) I recall that the last time the question of youngest user came up, a member named D@n weighed in at age thirteen, though someone may have edged in just under.
:-? Actually, we haven't heard from D@n in quite a while, now. I wonder whatever became of him....
-
Dan has been online today, but D@N hasn't. :-(
-
well, let's see. I'm a very immature 54 years old. As we speak I am playing with a "Pinky and the Brain" toy which I usually keep on the monitor but it keeps leaping to the floor. Pinky is in the clear plastic wheel of the tricycle the Brain is peddling. :-D
-
UMMM...
I'm 64 and with Amiga since 1986 (A500 then)
-
Yo Jim, you're the same age as me - turned 32 at the end of March.
I'm still acting like a deranged 21 year old.
I keep asking myself when I'm going to grow up, settle down,
stop getting wasted, start hating any music with a beat, etc, etc.
No sign of it happening yet.....
So now I'm off out to kick-start my weekend in the boozer.:pint:

Thought the A500 was released in 1987 (so you could purchase it in 1988)
-
it must have been a premature birth!
:roflmao:
-
New user in this forum <-
Turned 24 this past January.
Using amiga's since 1992, an old trusty A500 (then) :-D
-
Hmmm.... You could be right about amiga in 88.
Probably a senior moment....... :-?
I got my Vic20 in around 83 then went to the C64..
hmmm yah your probably right (many moons ago)
-

{and no, i don't think anyone is untermensch...well maybe giraffe's....those long necked snoopy {bleep}s...} ]

@Robert

stop getting wasted,
I quit all booze and ciggies back in late 2002 and lost ~50 pounds last year.
Looks like I am ahead of the curve on this one :-D
-Edit- Looking back i do not miss dropping my vices one bit. It was a bit of a change at first because my social life pretty much revolved around booze, everyone drinks so it seems. Life sure is different with a clear head:-)
-
Well, I'm 18!
I've been visiting Amiga.org since I was about 14.
IMHO, a more interesting topic would be the age at each
people here encountered Amigas and computers generally.
I got an Amstrad CPC6128 as a gift when I was ...4.
I still remember how fun it was to {bleep} up Basic programs
(not knowing what exactly I was doing of course;-)
I got my first Amiga 2 years later.
That was actually my only teacher in computing. :-)
The Amiga taught me everything I know.
-
Well, I'm 18!
my Amiga is almost as old as you (got it in 1989)
The Amiga taught me everything I know.
same here. It let me expand my career to using computers as an art tool, and for that, I will be forever loyal and greatful!
My former boss, Tony used to say I was an "Amiga Snob". he said this with some humor, of course. It's a title I carry with honor! :elvis:
-
Well, my CPC6128 is actually older than me;-)
My Amiga is younger.

i "interacted" with my first computer at the age of 4 in my nursery...i think it was an acorn?
My encounter with the Amiga was when my brother and our dad went to an Amiga show. They bought an Amiga 500+. My mum was furious  She wouldn't let my bro open it for 3 months...he had to sacrifice about 3 birthdays for that one thing...anyway :-D
and then....we played...and played...played...and played...and played...and [you get the picture] I was about 5 then
then pc's were "better" and we bought them. recently my bro bought an A1200 To have one
. i actually did something useful with it, installed miami, ibrowse, and some other crud, without any knowledge of workbench etc...and a little help from vinceAC and linchy :-)
At the age of 10 i started programming, and today i know php, vbasic [it sucks donkey penis{avoiding beep thingy}], c, and assembler [don't EVER make me remember that...]
Some goodness i've done:
Made sure there's at least one linux machine in each comp room in my school, started doing small web design for local churches schools and crud, and run several game and webservers...
that's about it folks
-
Well, I never had the time to try assembler but I program
in C, do some web design (www.pegasos.amigasympan.gr, giving credit for my sister's graphics and opi's scripting)
and getting VERY pissed off administrating my school's
network because they are LAME... Computer teachers that
can't operate anything and need help even for using WinAMP...
I'm quite happy that I finally finished it:-) (I'm in my
LAST school exam period right now).
BTW, ALL machines at school dual boot Win2k and Debian. :-)
-
AmiGR wrote:

it's a fact. all network administrators are lame [proffesional that is]
Computer teachers that
can't operate anything and need help even for using WinAMP...
oh no no no, you're not allowed to install programs. you'll have to use windows media player :pissed:

heh heh, lucky sod
-
@odin
Unless sir_inferno has had a birthday recently you're correct about his age. I'm 25 so if I die at 75 i've lived one third of my life, and what a ride it's been so far... etc. etc. bunch of poo!?!
-
25 in August :-D
-
oh no no no, you're not allowed to install programs. you'll have to use windows media player

Oh, no no no, I never allowed anyone to install CounterStrike, they were being FORCED to play Unreal Tournament with me (and lose;-).
Seriously, I was the one pulling the strings in there, as
they were totally clueless... I installed anything I wanted.

The day I give a student admin rights, is the day I take a meat cleaver to my testicles :-o I've got those little {bleep}s so locked down I'm surprised they can even turn the computers on  , come to think of it, all I need to do is turn the key to the master switch and they can't even do that...muahahahahaha...what a power trip. :-D

In your face, you baby!
-
As I said, I never gived anyone else the right to install
anything. I was administering everything (I was probably the
only one in the whole school that had a clue... while being
a student) and installing anything I wanted;-)
-
05/05/86 here:-)

Hoya!
I was born the 5th of July 1975.
In other words, I will turn 29 very soon... TOO soon... :-(
Be funky
M A D
-
Well, the only plus I can find in that is that I'm finishing
school:-) It's the only major point.
(Before anyone jumps in and says anything about tobacco or
alcohol, people do usually buy them long before they turn 18;-P)
-
@Jim:
yup - you're several steps ahead of me mate; I have a beer in my hand
right now. (well, it is Friday night)
If I ever have kids, my life will turn upside down, because I
wouldn't dream of behaving the way I do in front of them.
Until then, I guess I'll just keep on keepin' on. :pint:
Actually, WTF am I doing here on a Friday night?
See y'all later. :-D
-
I'm 26 and this is the first time that I have started to think of myself as being old and almost past it. The strangest thing is that you see a beautiful girl walking along with her mother and find yourself giving the mother the once over! Odd.
