Title: Need more Workbench help
Post by: borat on May 12, 2004, 09:36:58 PM
I just FINALLY installed Genesis on an A1200. I had no serial cable so I had to do it using 720k floppies.

anyway, it all installed fine, but clicking the GenesisWizard, Genesis or GenesisPrefs doesn't do anything. The hdd light comes on for a second, but it just doesn't do anything.

What's wrong?

I have encountered similar problems with Genesis prefs.  Under 3.1, re-installing it worked but with 3.9, it didn't work at all but with Boing Bag 1, the "new improved Genesis prefs" worked fine.  Sorry, I can only contribute my experience rather than an explanation/solution!

Use the SnoopDOS !

Funny, that there still people who never heard of this program.

The old Genesis demo from Aminet requires MUI 3.8 installed for the GUI.  You can download MUI from Aminet, mui38usr.lha.

/me recommends giving in to the ghost of Holger Kruse's Amiga and downloading Miami.

I tried Genesis when I installed OS 3.9.....
I found it unstable, didn't like it.
I went back to Tremite TCP, its compact and rock solid.
I've never tried Miami so I can't say about it.
Miami would probably be easier to find than Tremite TCP.
