Title: PPC emulator for x86... true or fake?
Post by: Varthall on May 11, 2004, 09:05:56 PM
Today the first version of what seems to be a G3 emulator for x86 machines has been released:

http://pearpc.sourceforge.net/

It claims to run some PPC distros of Linux and even MacOsX 10.3! Someone with a fast PC could try it and see if it works, and report how fast it is?

Installing Panther now, on my 2400+ machine.

Very slow, reminds me of the day I tried running win3.11 on my 030 1200.

Aside from that, it's a very cool and interesting project.

Speaking of running a PPC on x86 hardware.

What ever happened to the PPC card that Microcode soulutions were
developing for PC's?. I think it was supposed to be like
the sonnet PCI upgrade card for Macs, but it would work
in a PC.

Probably like the Emplant deluxe card, but with a PPC on board?
