Title: More questions .....
Post by: willbloke2 on May 07, 2004, 09:28:23 AM
Hi again , sorry for all the questions , it's been such a long time since I was Amiga litterate  :-?
I've managed to get hold of a 3COM 3C589D NIC ,which I believe should work on a A1200 .
I think I need the TCPIP s/ware , Miami rings a bell .
Is that right ? are there others ? do you have to pay for it ?
Is there s/ware on Aminet ?
Other question , I can download stuff onto my PC at work , how can I read these discs on my Amiga , I thought it was something to do with crossdos?
Is that right ?
Sorry for all the questions .
Old age is a terrible thing

I'm all excited about getting into it again !! :-D  :-D

Cheers , Will

AFAIK, it's hard to get a registered copy of Miami, as the developers has stopped supporting it.
There are shareware versions and pirate-keys availible on the net, though. Google is your friend! :-D

You'll prolly need a driver for the card. There is one on Aminet called C-net, or something like that.

You can read PC-floppies on your miggy, assuming they're 720k floppies (or that you have a HD-drive in your miggy). You'll need Cross-DOS to do it. If you have Workbench installed on your harddrive, it should be enough to type "mount pc0:" in the "Execute command"-box.
