Title: Scale OS???
Post by: drwho on April 30, 2004, 03:44:30 PM
Hi Folks,

I was playing with WinUAE last night and installed Amiga In A Box. I was wondering, if Scale OS is still available, could that be run on my A3000 as well?

Probably a stupid question, but, I thought I would ask before I go and screw my OS3.5 install up. :-D

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Ok, then just do a google search and you will find it. download it and replace Workbench with it :-D

Apparently the 'os' at the end is not supposed to stand for 'operating system'.

Scalos runs very nicely under UAE, in my experience. :-)

I am not sure I really understand what this is.  What does one get by using this rather than the standard Workbench?

Well, its advantages are probably more apparent to those still with Workbench 3.0/3.1. Added functionality like opening drawers from the shell, better looking requesters, less "hacky" modifications (no need to run ToolsDaemon, title-bar hacks, etc).
