I have two FastLaneZ3 and none of them want to work with my A3KT. The Amiga doesn´t even boot into early startup so I can´t see what´s wrong. I know they work though and I have the manual.
Anyone with an idea? :-)

Does your A3K have Buster 11 in it? Fastlane Z3 requires Zorro III DMA, and for that to work properly, Buster 11 is required.
-
Yes, it has all the new chip in it. :-)
(It doesn´t require vers 11 only 09 according to the manual.)
-
Version 9 is very buggy Hope you have ver. 11
-
Ehm.. yes I have all the new chip in it. :-)

I remember there is an issue with the combination Fastlane / A3640. Due to a designfalt of the A3640 you need to replace a tiny chip on the Mobo. Try it without the A3640 and see what happens.

That is what I suspect, but according to the manual the problem is on the A4K (although it doesn´t say anything about the problem on an A3K) but on the A3K you only need a Buster 09 or pref. Buster 11.
But where should that FCT240 be on an A3K then? :-)

I have a fastlane that also does not work on my 4000 with a 3640 rev 3.1 and buster 11. The post screen comes up with one part showing up as defective!!!
any suggesstions

If you haven´t changed the 74FCT244 to the supplied 74FCT240 clock driver chip then you´ll bound to have problems. It´s a DIL module located on the motherboard marked U103. All according to the manual. :-)
Although they are talking about the A3640 ver. 3.0 but it might be the same with 3.1.

I recently installed a FastLaneZ3 into my 3000T running a v3.0 3640 and v7 buster. Fires up fine with 64 megs installed. Have yet to attempt working with the scsiII connection untill v11 buster is installed.
Double check all those Fastlane jumpers.
...and this may sound useless, but try installing the Fastlane into a different slot. I have mine just below the video slot.
good luck.

@T3000, Sounds good I´ll try that.
Although I have now tested the card in my A3KD with stock 030 and it worked fine there but I only get the mem to work. When I try to do anything with the scsi then my Amiga won´t start. :-)
