The answer is clear. We all agree that Eyetech should update the news about the reason for the delay of the A1XE...Let hope they will see this:-)

Three weeks ago, Eyetech announced on their public mailing list that they expect the G4 chips to arrive in mid-January and that they will start shipping the boards in late January.
This information is still valid.
-
Thankyou i must have missed that post at least i now know thanx again
-
They announced in December that the chips would arrive two weeks later than scheduled. That since they had to wait on the CPUs, they would wait til MAI started shipping the Artica S with the new mask which would be just after the delayed CPU should arrive. The board were then stated to be ready for shipping in late January/early Feb.
-
So the new buxfixed Articia will be available much sooner than
expected then. I didn't really expect any Articia based system to
ship with the new mask for some time. What changed!
-
Erm what the hell is Artica?
-
poweramiga:
It's the PPC chipset by MAI.

and remember if its february anyway, even feb. 14th is early february, and its no big deal if it slips to late february, and early march is about the same is late february.
if it slips to april thats a small price to pay to have a more reliable board with all the bugs worked out, and OS 4 hasn't shipped anyway....
feel free to notice the sarcasm at any time :-)

What delay? All I've heard from Mai is "next year", and that was on December 3.I wouldn't be surprised if Eyetech has announced a more specific and earlier date as usual, but they have no control over when the new Articia revision will be finished and produced together with finished Teron PX boards.
BTW, Terra Soft still hasn't removed the "will ship in January" disclaimer for the Teron CX. I doubt that Terra Soft would sell boards with a known buggy northbridge, so my guess is that the CX and PX will ship at about the same time, whenever that might be.

Alan has on the A1 mailing list
A1 XE G4 still on track for january. But because of the large orders some may roll over into Feb.
I'll imagine they will be sent out by order date like the G3 Boards.

Good morning, everybody! Anyway, it shouldn't take too long, and i got the advance of changing the order to the top-of-the-line A1G4XE-model! Great change!
Anyway, this is great change!!!

Alan has on the A1 mailing list
As i said in a earlier thread,
Maybe they (Eyetech) should update their website once in a while instead of their customers (or soon to be customers) having to find out info about a product they want to order or have ordered on Amiga news sites and forums (mailing lists).

That is, *if* and *only if* this "news" was actual news.
