Title: What helicopter game is this?

Hi, trying to find the name of a game. I never had this, just saw an old friend playing it years and years ago.

You played as a blue helicopter gunship. It was birds eye view, a vertical scrolling shooter.

That's all I can really remember about it :\

Anyone know it? I think it was fairly well known....

Nope, didn't that have a tank in it too? this was just a helicopter.

If it was a top-down view had rotating backgrounds, it was probably Seek and Destroy.  I love that game!

[Edit]:  Oops.  Didn't see the part about vertical scolling.  S&D is still awesome.  ;-)

I remember I played the Arcade version. It was very good but I don't played the Amiga conversion.

In Thunderblade, at least the arcade version, there were TWO different views: a bird's eye one and a horizontal one.
I played the arcade and it rocked!
Reckon it used the same engine as AfterBurner...?

/me loves 80s arcade games. Today's 3d plain sucks.

Ha! I remember having thunderblade for my "SEGA Master System", along with that awesome 3D missile shooting game and some platform adventure. At some point in thunderblade, you went into a "from behind"-3D perspective. Tubular!

Oh yes! My mistake!
In Thunderblade you saw your heli from behind, NOT from the side... I KNEW there were different views though ;-P

I do not remember the Amiga conversion thoiugh.

I heard that MAME is already ported to the AmigaOS 4, so you'll be able to play the arcade version on the miggy as well. Both versions (Japanese and US) of the SMS port of this game work fine under AmiMasterGear (tested).

About ThunderBlade: Amiga version is WEAK compared with Arcade or X68k version: try one of these if you can !

MAME is being ported on OS4??!!!!
YYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder, is it much more playable with a 060 and a GFX card? 060+AGA enable to play some older games but stuff like Double Dragon or DragonNinja is rather unplayable because of its slow speed... :-/
