I am glockspeel, from Groningen, Netherlands. My user name was going to be Glockenspeel but this site wouldn't take user-names over 10 characters long. Anyway, nice to speak to you all, and I especially look forward to speaking to Speelgoedmannetje and odin, who are from my home town. :-D
-
:-o :-o
How many more Grunneger lurkers do we have here :-D.
We should all meet up for a beer sometime...:pint:
-
Hello and welcome to amiga.org! Speelgoedmannetje and odin are here all the time, just look at their post count ;-) :pint:

instead of sleepwalking, we have sleep-posting :-P
Nah, im just joking, this place luckily have people who can
take a joke, i just love people with lots of self irony :-)
-
Hi dude and welcome to the amisylum :-D
Username too long, eh? Well, that particular mallet comes up as "Glocken" on my synth, so you got off lightly :-)
-
Hmmm, on my old korg z1 it comes up as glockenspiel, and does NOT sound as a glockenspiel at all :-)
-
Isn't it really a xylophone though?
(NO DON'T BRING IN PATRICK MOORE)
;-).
-
@odin
One simply doesn't know what you mean, old boy ;-)
-edit-
Isn't a xylophone a combination of wood/metal and muted compared to a glockenspiel?
-
EDIT
Cant attach url pictures anymore :-(
-
Welcome to amiga.org Glockspeel!
To start with, have a pint on me! :pint: I'm sure you'll be a huge asset to amiga.org and it's fantastic to see another groningen man on this site. You, Odin and Speel should all meet up for drinks!
Happy posting!
sumner7 :-D

[did someone say PATRICK MOORE...]
-
Yeah Baby. Welcome to Amiga.org. As you see we have a full arrangement of activites in our wonderful playpark. YeaH woohoo, I think I'm finally going to get access to the box with my processor cards...
Anyone have a spare PPC, maybe like Cyberstorm something, they are willing to donate to me for my a4000 :-D
@Karlos
Yipe a Glockenspiel is 2 1/2 to 3 octaves of piercing metal (mostly ferrous), like steel. I think name means to play the bells or something
Xylophone is all hardwood, consisting of about 3 octaves or more (depends on the kind of xylophone), with the name in greek meaning xylo- wood , phone- sound, voice, whatever
Best of Wishes Glockpiel
-
Thank you very much. Here's to good health :pint:

I see. That definately explains the xylophone sound on my synth. At first I was gonna say "all wood" then I thought, "hang on, that's a marimba, isn't it?"
Tune in next week folks, for more mallet percussion action when we uncover "just what is a celesta?"

Is that your glockenspiel?
-
I am a firm believer that a man should keep his glockenspiel to himself, and maybe his wife. I guess I'm just old fashioned, as the internet is flooded with photos of glockenspiels these days ...
to Glockenspiel - hello fellow newbie! :-)
-
Thankyou Holley, and hello to you too fellow newbie! :pint:
-
Hi, I've been busy posting rubbish since I put that up ;-)
-
