10: Before handing it to Hyperion,
Amiga.inc misspelled "AOS4.src", so that it said "BOS4.src".
9: They kept testing the early versions on winUAE.
8: Hyperion misunderstood, and tried to make a game out of it.
7: Betatesters kept complaining on the lack of software for it.
6: 0.01 % of Hyperions time and money is not all that much...
5: Inexplainable and frightening deaths among the Hyperion crew
after they killed the Guru...
4: Bill Gates 'invested' in Hyperion.
3: It took alot of time to copy'n'paste the 3.9 source.
2: Too many problems when it was time to fit it onto a DD diskett.
...And the number one reason AOS4 has been so delayed:
Amiga.inc sold "Amiga OS Club" coupons to Hyperion,
telling them they would get the source + a "Club AOS4" T-Shirt.

4: Bill Gates 'invested' in Hyperion.
Wrong! You misspelled a word yourselves:
Bill Gates NEVER invests. He just infests! :-P
As for all the summed up reasons: nicely conjoured up but tsk, tsk, tsk!

Dude! AOS4.0 has been surrounded by "negativity" for ages man... at last it seems it may be coming out (well, it is) and your still having a dig at it man!
Its gotta be about time we had some positive direction towards the amiga! (Its been a long time....)
-
AmigaOS 4.0 wasn't delayed. It simply had changed release date several times, that's it.
-
OS4 has not been delayed, it's right on schedule, ready in two more weeks.
-
It's so easy to criticise, isn't it? To borrow a quote,
"Any fool can condemn and criticise. And most fools do."

@ Im>bE
What was your intention with this thread?
-
just a joke I think... pretty funny though.

Given that he did not use any of the "official" reasons (which he could have), this was clearly intended as a joke.

Lets all just look towards the new Amiga OS. Let sleeping dogs lie as they say, y'know its taken a long time and hopefully that is going to equate into a great OS. From what i have seen of it its class anyway (and that was with no apps lol)!
Roll on NextGenAmiOS!

as with Letterman's bit's, the funniest one is generally #3.
3: It took alot of time to copy'n'paste the 3.9 source.
:roflmao:

now that OS4 is about to be unleased, let's all have a good laugh (at the jokes, not the OS) and enjoy it (both)!

Oh. Erm. Chortle?
:-)
-
David Letterman said that?
-
I'm confused...
-
Ofcourse David Letterman said that!
Do you think I made those jokes by myself???...
-
ROTFL, :roflmao:
nice one Im>bE :D
-
thats even funnier then... Good publicity though as then people will probably want to know what the heck OS4 and Amiga is. I bet there were not many laughs though as some of that is only understood by Amiga users/emulator users.
Edit: after searching Top 10 archives, David Letterman, in fact did not write that.

You forgot the one where Hyperion were handed fake, misleading business cards.
Ahem.

Hmm. I see this as just a humorous joke that could only really be told at this particular time in the Amiga's history. I don't think we need to get all bent out of shape about it. We need to stop taking ourselves quite so seriously.

Well you have to tell the programmers to quit putting that stuff on punch cards and 8" floppy disk.
I want free Amiga stickers with that too (to go with my Apple ones I guess?)
-
5: Inexplainable and frightening deaths among the Hyperion crew
after they killed the Guru...
And you think that is funny... I think it is quite tasteless.
-
>And you think that is funny... I think it is quite tasteless.
Hence why I added the "..." dots.
