1988, I was 14 and asked my dad to drive me downtown Montreal to get an A500 during a snowstorm (no need to tell he was not pleased that much) :)
Back home I plugged it and turned it on and *POOF*!! The damn thing blew up, there was a short circuit with the 12V of my C=2080 monitor connector. I begged my dad to go back to the store, we arrived about 15 mins before closing time and fortunately the clerk accepted to switch the A500 for another one! :)

Mine wasn't in Montreal, it was on the south shore (Greenfield park or St-Hubert sur grande allée). I think I was around 14 too when I got my Amiga 500. :-)
My and my old man were gonna buy a computer. The salesman was an Amiga fan. :lol:
