Is it possible to boot from a CDROM device attached via IDE on the A1200?
If so how do i set it up to do so, i have and EZIDE interface which currently boots from a 250mb hd.
Its just i'm getting a single disk copy of the Debian (woody) for M68K, and im goin to have a bash at trying to get it to run on my A1200 :-P Should be interesting

It`s possible, but not straightforward.
If you`re using 3.0 Roms, then you can`t cold boot from a CD, as it doesn`t have the driver or CD filesystem in ROM. So you`d have to boot to the floppy or HD, load them into memory then reset.
AFAIK, the 3.1 ROMS have a CD filesystem, but not the ATAPI drivers, so you`d still need to load up IDEFIX or whatever.

No Amiga ROM have cd filesystem (except CDTV and CD32 extra ROM).
AFAIK the only way to boot from CD is to use Phase/DCE board with CD filesystem on flash (for example CyberStorm PPC, CyberStorm MK3 and Blizzard PPC). Not sure if Blizzard 1230, 1240 and 1260 SCSI-Kit had this possibility. IIRC, not.

I have tried with my SYS: cdrom backup but no success at all :(
Thank you in advance!

DOH.. I could have sworn they were in the A4000 3.1 ROM, I just checked with a hex viewer and they`re not there.
thanks for the correction.
