Title: Chipping away at privacy with radio waves
Post by: Glaucus on April 16, 2004, 06:24:11 PM
Chipping away at privacy with radio waves (http://www.cnn.com/2004/TECH/04/14/rfid/index.html)
Privacy advocates are alarmed by a new technology that might be able to monitor even the tiniest aspects of our lives. It comes in the form of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) chips.

CNN should keep up with current affairs a little more :-)  RFID started to rear its ugly head in the media about two years ago.

If it ever becomes a concern, I'm going to start carrying a BIG BOX of RFID tags everywhere i go, I'll even get a winter coat padded with nothing but RFID tags, insulate my house with them maybe. Let's see what I can do to the signal/noise ratio.  :-)

I'm sure it won't be long before you can buy RFID jammers. You can already buy cell phone jamming equipment (and is often used by movie theaters and high-security places).
