Title: Voodoo 5500 Setup on Mediator 1200 Help
Post by: punkpie on April 15, 2004, 04:10:10 PM
Hi all,

Just managed to get a Voodoo 5500 and put it in my Mediator 1200.  After some fiddling (forgot to plug the power cable in ;) ) it is now recognised
in PCIInfo.   After following the instructions and installing Picasso96 2,
attaching the card etc. it appears in screenmode.  The only problem is no matter which screenmode I pick my Amiga locks up and all I can do is restart.

I read somewhere that you need to use a different version of the voodoo.card driver, which isn’t installed by default, so I copied it to libs:picasso96/voodoo.card manually.  “version” shows it’s 4.6.

I’ve got the latest versions of the mediator updates installed too but still locks up.

Anyone got any ideas?  Or an idiot proof guide of how to get it up and working?

Cheers,

Lee

OK, I think I've narrowed this down to an incompatiblity in the version of the pci.library and the voodoo.card driver.  Can someone, using this setup, do me a quick favour and check the versions of these 2 files on your system.  I'll compare them to check.

I've also got a soundblaster card.  Anyone know if these have problems with the voodoo cards?

Cheers.
