Title: Ethernet printing to router print port
Post by: amiwalker on April 13, 2004, 12:30:29 AM
Hello:

I am having alot of trouble getting my A3000D to print to a DLink DI-704P printer port without getting an error returned.

I have X-SurfII, Genesis, Turboprint 7.16, NetParLPR.lha, prt42_50.lha.

I installed all of the software as per instructions for Turboprint.

The printout looks fine, but I get an error message after the printing is done.

It appears from the error message that my Amiga is waiting for a responce from the DI-704P printer port.

Has anyone had this problem or can provide me with a solution to this problem?

Hi

sorry couldn't help, I use NetParLPR to print using my Linux print-server and a Canon Bj300 without any problem.

I don't use TurboPrint maybe the problem is related to this, or it might be your printer port.

I have the same problem printing through netpar to a print server when I use GraphicPublisher (part of TurboPrint).  It prints a single page just fine, and then hangs--evidently, the Amiga is expecting some kind of reply from the printer that never comes.  The only solution is a reboot.

Printing using TurboPrint's PS: device (and Ghostscript 8) works fine, however.  I think there is probably a bug in GraphicPublisher, and it's been there through many versions of TurboPrint.

Thanks for the info, I just wish there was a solution for this problem besides a reboot!

Just wondering, where can GS8 be downloaded and will it work with Turboprint 7.16?

Yes, GS8 works with all versions of Turboprint that support PS:.  The URL is http://www.whoosh777.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/
