Hi,
I have seen so many "fave game" theads in my time here, but oddly I cant recall a single thread for favourite applications.
So, lets have 'em :-)
My favourite applications are
OctaMED Soundstudio
Photogenics
ShapeShifter (was invaluable at one point)
GoldEd Studio/gcc
StormC4
VBCC
-
My apps would be (in no order):
IBrowse
SAS C
Storm C
Wordworth
PPaint
-
Personal Paint is the best paint program I've ever used on any platform, perfect for drawing game graphics. And I love using a program called Backbone, which is a platform game creator. Oh, and AmIRC.
-
Dopus v4 (if it was not for this app i would have left Amiga in the early 90s)
amIRC
AmiNetRadio
CED
Thor (outdated now)
Yam (quite good)
SimpleMail (the new nr 1 mail app on Amigaish solutions)
Then there is also Mplayer and a few others but those are MOS only so i wont mention them here =).
-
Voyager
WHDLoad
YAM
AmigaAmp
WhichAmiga (desparately needs updating...I doubt that piru will do it though)
BlizKick (a must for any Blizzard/Cyberstorm owner)
Although Amiga web browsers are weak compared to the real world, it's nice to be able to download necessary files from the net, directly to my Amiga. That's why I like the web browser the most. :-) I am a regged Voyager user so too late to pick something else (better) now as I don't intend to spend money on more Amiga web browsers.
-
Hmm,
I forgot about amigaamp. Its running so much it blended into the background and I forgot about it :-D
-
Some of my favourite Amiga applications would
have to be:
Dopus4
ImageFX
Imagine
LightWave
TVPaint
Yam
Brilliance
SongPlayer
AmiNetRadio
FroggerNG
Scala
Sas/C
-
My favorites are
a) applications in NetConnect (2 & 3)
b) GoldED
c) ANR
d) FroggerNG
and a whole bunch more ;)
-
Blitz Basic/AmiBlitz, great for knocking up programs quickly.
PPaint, IMHO the best palette based paint prog ever.
DiskMaster, old skool file manager.
YAM , cos it`s better than Outlook Express !
RemoteAmp, for controlling WinAmp over a network (and cos I wrote it :-D )
-
My favourite application is:
AmiNetRadio
:-D
AmiTradeCenter, IBrowse and AmIRC are good too.
-
My favorites is
DOpus
PPaint
Dpaint
Photogenics
Collector
-
Drat, most have been said already....
i didn`t see finalwriter though...
-
I've used full or demo versions of these, this tops my list of Amiga apps :-)
OctaMED v2 up to soundstudio
P/DPaint
DOpus 4.x
Miami
AmIRC
Mandelbrot 2000
MegaLoSound (and it's accompanying software)
EDIT - Oh no I forgot DeliPlayer! :-o
-
Hands down it's Deluxe Paint and Broderbund's fantavision. I know they are oldies, but I still can spend hours and hours of fun with them and Amiga Live!
-
Browser II
Hippo Player
CED
I am sure there are more but they were the ones that come to mind whilst sitting at work :)
-
Fusion, amIRC, YAM plus plugins (html, XML), and of course amiZILLA !!!
-
Here's mine
OctaMED
ImageFX
HippoPlayer
Dir Work 2.1 (file manager)
:-)
-
oh..
dunno about my favourite, but these are the most used:
Dopus Magellan
Hippo Player
Protracker 3.18
XCopyPRO was the most used app back when I had a 500 :-)
Disksalv is nice when I accidently delete something
Aegis Audiomaster for editing samples
FastView for viewing jpg's
AmiCDFS
reqtools.library :-)
..and lots more I couldn't live without
-
Theres so many, but there are only a few modern (more or less) packages with that polished feel. We need more! Heres my list in no real order.
GoldED
TVPaint
Candyfactory
DOpus MII
AmIRC
I`d have put DPaint 5 n Lightwave a while back but I rarely use either now (unless you count LW7.5 on the PC).
I`d like to put ImageFX. Its a great bit of software, but its never been the best on my system. I may add it when I get an upgrade from 4 to 4.5 and get it running on my AmigaOne.
I`d also like to add FXPaint, but haven`t used it enough to make full judgement yet. Seems very good though.
-
favorite huh... well:
Dopus 4.12 (GPL version)
Protracker 3.16 (yes, i know :)
Digibooster
Perfect Paint (it's PERFECT and FREE!)
QuickNote (love it!)
YAM! (nothing beats that!)
IBrowse 2.2
AmiTradeCenter
Amplifier
SoundFX
-
AmIRC
ELAN Performer (essential for VJ's and DJ's)
ScalaMM300 (you don't know Amiga till you master this)
Brilliance 2.0
PPaint
VideoToaster
DiskMaster II
AmigAIM (AOL Instant Messenger for Amiga)
YAM
DSS8+
@Rebel-CD32
Personal Paint is the best paint program I've ever used on any platform
Thats because youhavent tried Brilliance! although it does not have the ability to apply special FX, it is really fast ( I have PPaint also, which I think is better than Deluxe Paint)
-
I love one of the basic programs that came with Aworkbench 1.x, The program say!
-
@AmigaFreak
I love Say to.
You should try these other Speech programs for Amiga:
Announce
Speak2Sample
Talk
Narrator Test
also scripts for AmIRC that lets AmIRC talk while you chat with friends online and reads back what they wrote
AmIRSAY.amirx
NARRATOR.amirx
You can also make ScalaMM300 Talk in presentations or in credit tiles your making and lots o other uses like speaking while playing music.
Speak2Sample (converts the speach to an IFF or WAV file)
Ives used it to burn the name of a track on a Music CD before the track starts.....for instance the Amiga saying: Track 1....Track 2.....Track 3 etc
-
Hey, on the subject of "Say", are there any replacements that use more formants and stuff? MacOS 7.5.3 had this speech tool that was really cool (I messed with it under shape shifter), it basically vocoded a sample or something to create lots of speech variations.
Given that it ran fine under mac emulation, I expect a native equivalent is possible :-)
That would be a cool musical toy :-D
-
I have MacOS 8.6 and it has "Speakable Items".
-
My top favorites that I miss:
10. MiamiDX
09. the XAD system

-Brilliance 2.0 (Beats DPaint and PPaint).
-Lightwave 3D (what an excellent 3D program that was. Totally abandoned it after r5.5)
-Delitracker II (the best music player with sh*tloads of plugins)
-Final Writer 2+(wrote most of my undergrad assignments with it).
-Querterback Tools (still one of the best backup tools ever)
-ImageFX (still use it nowadays, excellent with a graphics card)
-Art Effect (I don't need Photoshop)
-
Wow, was I the only one that use Art Department Pro and Imagemaster R/T? Sculpt 3D started it all for me.
-
was I the only one that use Art Department Pro
no, i used that before I used ImageFX. in fact i may be one of he few to use FRED
I always loved Dopus, versions 4 at 1st and then Magellan.
CED for writing web pages and before I used a browser, Terminus.
songplayer was always cool!
I used all 3 amiga browsers to test my early web pages but eventually bought AWeb.
DCTV, OpalPaint, and others i can't remember at the moment. :-P

MUI! *ducks*
I can't wait to get a real Amiga working again... complete with 24/32bit screens. UAE just doesn't cut it for some reason.
Agreed! But what exactly is that *feel* thats missing? Some would say its the missing copper/blitter I suppose, I figure the emu doesn't designate enough cpu cycles to keep up (cuz' it can't?) All I know is, when I exit winUAE, my OC'd athlon is almost smoking according to our monitor.
