Title: A1200 Apollo 68040 40MHz accelerator
Post by: vallis on April 07, 2004, 01:40:29 AM
Hi all,

About two years ago I bought this accelerator off of eBay for about £150 with a 32MB SIMM on it, with the intentions of building an A1200 into a tower case for a bit of fun. To cut a long story short I never had the time/inclination to get around to even starting the project so it's been sat in a jiffy bag on my shelf here for a long time.

I was just wondering about putting it on eBay, but I really don't know what its worth these days - could anyone give me a guide price? Also, if anyone on this forum is after one let me know and we can work something out.

Thanks in advance!

Hi vallis

I bought an apollo 040 wiv 32meg of ram of ebay afew months ago for around 50-60 quid.  The problem with selling the 040 is there's so many PPC cards floating about and going cheap.  Maybe you would be better off sticking it on amibench.

yup £50-£60 is a reasonable estimate id say.

I always sell on amibench, id never sell an amiga item on ebay. Reason being, and its on add one... I dont belive in the way ebay works, theres too many suckers out there who will pay far too much for an item, esspecially when it comes to amiga stuff. When I sell my amiga stuff, I sell something that has an emotional attachment to me, so Id rather it go to good use at a good home, rather than to the highest bidder. After all, money isnt everything.
