Apple released two more TiPB form factors to complement their iBook and 15" TiPB (which I own).
They've released 12" and 17" (screen sized) PowerBook form factors:
http://www.apple.com/powerbook/index12.html (http://www.apple.com/powerbook/index12.html)
http://www.apple.com/powerbook/index17.html (http://www.apple.com/powerbook/index17.html)
Genesi has hinted they may port MorphOS to Apple Macs and B. Buck has been seen with a 15" TiPB. These machines are far more appealing to me than any desktop.

Cool, I like that 17" puppy. Backlit keys on the keyboard, cool. A real Cadillac of Laptops. :-D :-D :-D

I'm getting me a 12" one.
MorphOS isn't getting anywhere near it though.
I'll keep my OS X on there.
It's mine.... my own... my precioussss

sure thats interesting....
plus I think they are doing a good job with their digital lifestyle apps, giving people a real reason to use a Mac.
Releasing X11 again, now in beta, but hopefully soon it will be integrated into the OS!
And another web browser...supposedly faster than opera, omni, etc.....based on KHTML and they are posting back their changes to the KHTML team...WOW....did they just get a boost.
Amiga should port this beauty....it seems like porting a browser is the one thing all the Amiga talent can never seem to do.....such a shame.
I can't believe how exciting it is to watch apple these days...
Oh and one last interesting thing, Mac upgrade card manufacturers like PowerLogix and Sonnet have 1.2ghz G4's, even in dual configurations....our guys can't get their hands on 800mhz G4's....
Or is it the truth that they can get the parts, but the longer they delay, the better price they get...it goes without saying, never prepay....
but I digress....
good to see apple doing so well.

Hmm
It may explain where all the G4 CPU's went just before Christmas
And all this time I thought I was being told a "little white lie" as to why my AmigaOne was delayed ;-)

MarkTime,

It's called Safari, and I'm typing this message with it. The fact that it totally supports Amiga.org is amazing. The fact that it loads Amiga.org about 10x faster than Mozilla is even more impressive. It looks like I have myself a new browser on my TiPB. No, not one of the new ones. But just as nifty. ;-)
And I agree, seeing Safari on the Amiga would be very impressive, because let's face it, we haven't exactly been excelling with browsers of late.
Click here to go to the Safari Web Browser Page (http://www.apple.com/safari/)
Onward to new challenges for Safari. Although loading Amiga Inc.'s Christmas page at light speed was quite the test. Mozilla's bites on that site.

I doubt X11 will EVER be integrated in Mac OS X. X11 sucks way too much ass. Apple's implementation also has a flaw in that they use the Aqua appearance even though not a single X11 app follows the Aqua behavior.
Their browser also has interface problems, like why the hell did they use Metal?! System Preferences still lacks a way to change the file type mappings, you still have to use IE for that.
As for G4 I have yet to see a running A1 with a G4 so I wouldn't even go as far as to say we have G4s available. In fact has anybody from MAI or Eyetech or TerraSoft said anything about a working G4 prototype? I haven't.

The fact that Safari is faster than IE or Mozilla is not surprising by yours truely. Both of those browsers are still using deprecated APIs for event handling. Opera also had this problem, and still might.
Safari is likely a result of Apple's frustration with LAZY Mac developers who cling on to deprecated APIs.
That being said I'm glad Apple did it, even if it has a few interface quirks which drive me up the wall (like using Metal).
