Title: Apollo 060. Dead Batery A1000 mem expansion
Post by: Mucker on April 06, 2004, 08:47:12 PM
Hiya every one, thanks for all the mega feedback on the previously posted aricles on getting an HD for my a1000.

I`ve got 2 other curious if any body can help me with.

Having just unmothbaled my z4/12060, i`ve found the mem battery to be stufed. any body know where i can get it replaced in the u.k.....

I`ve tried the obvious like Maplins, p.c.world etc. but no joy.

The other small matter is, i only gor 256k mem in my A1000, 512k would be nice, or even 1024k. but how do i go about finding a mem board for such an old machine? Is there any hacks for conectiong something like an a501.

Thanks team, cheers the Muckster :-D

I have one of those lurking around here

http://www.amiga-hardware.com/a1000256kramex.html

That will give you a total of 512k RAM. I will have to check if it is still good.
The Problem is the payment. International money orders cost a huge amount of money. The other alternative of just sending money cash will be hampered by the fact that the UK sticks to the £
If you come up with some clever idea how to handle the payment it is yours for 10 EUR incl. shipping.

@lemmink
And why should it be a prob to send Euros from the UK ?
Prolly not so cheap due to exchange-rate and fees ....

@Markus
He would still be stucked with only 256KB Chip, on a system without the possibility to go RTG  :-(  That Golem would offcourse be the next logical step after he has upgraded to 512KB.
