Funeral of Dutch 'Queen Mother' takes place:

Strikes me as being in the hearts of the Dutch people in the same way that our Queen Mother was.
The thing that caught my eye was the fact that there is reportedly 81% support for the Dutch monarchy according to a recent opinion poll. I bet that figure would be much lower here in the UK...

While I think the monarchy is an insane institution, I think the queen mum Juliana was without doubt the best person in that position.
-
I think that's how many people in Britain thought of our Queen Mother too. They might not have liked the Queen and her idiot kids, but they had a lot of respect for the Queen Mother, who was dignified yet 'down-to-earth'.

Cyberus, I'll trade you the Queen Mother for Bush and Rumsfeld ANYDAY. See, you're even getting a 2 for 1 special.
-
You'll trade them for a stiff then eh? ;-).
