Right, how annoying is this...
I want to add another filetype to webworld... so I goto customize, I goto filetypes, I go down to webworld and expand activation... I double click on the filetype setting and NOTHING happens. I click madly for about 15 minutes and stil nothing happens... I read the guide... no mention of anything about how to edit the filetypes...
So anyone out there got any advise?
Im using GoldED6, and has always been a great piece of software upuntil this irritation. Its happened to me in the past but constant clicking eventually brings up the edit line allowing me to add another filetype... but no this time around..
I thought, nevermind I'll just manually edit the registry.. Nope... doing that made the registry corrupt... so im stuck, pissed off, tired and behind schedule on the work I had assigned myself to do tonight.

I'm not sure what you mean, but I think to change some options you need to double click slowly on it to rename it.. similar to Windows98 or whatever. I had trouble working that out too.
I hope this helps.

Indeed clicking slowly does eventually work... but even so isnt that very odd? My click rate is very fast (I hate accidently double clicking on something...)

Another way would be to press F2 after highlighting whatever it is. Well, it lets you rename certain things that you can also 2nd click for.

Clicking slowly always works if an item can be renamed, not just eventually. The rule is quite simple: if you doubleclick, you execute the default action of an item. If you want to rename the selected item, you have to single-click it. If an item is not yet selected, you must wait after the selection click or the OS will inevitably see the next click as a doubleclick. For this to work smoothly, the OS doubleclick interval must be set reasonably short. As somebody above already pointed out, it is more convenient to use F2 to rename items.

Give it another try, the doubleclick issue is mentioned on the first ten pages or so, beeing a key concept and all ;)
