Title: Split Screen Hardware Scrolling

Could the hardware scrolling deal with a VERTICAL split screen such as Lemmings OR did you have to implement with Blitter/Software?

I have noted that Lemmings (in dual player) has a large dividing border in the middle, is this to hide change over of virtual screen maybe by the COPPER.

Not sure how lemmings does it , but the effect could be achieved by using dual playfield mode and a single screen-height sprite down the middle.

I love that idea. Duel backgrounds that are not over layed but side by side, such a nice exploit. I guess independent hardware scrolling on each side but with a memory and colour depth hit - but worth it.
