Hi
I've got an NG board on order.
I've also got a Power Computing XL 1.76MB external Floppy Drive. Or the guts of one. I removed it from its external housing to shove in a tower that was never finished. Yes I am a muffin for doing that. I have the case somewhere so it can always be reassembled (I hope)
I know they wont fit the standard A1200 case without modification.
The drive itself looks like a standard PC Unit
The button looks like it needs to move a bit and obviously the drive casing/faceplate would need to be removed. I've seen an A500 floppy printed button that is staggered which may achieve this. I'm asking because I can't find an original A1200 drive (I've 2 cases though lol)
If I somehow got it to fit, I assume I can use it as DF:0 ?
OR am I up a gumtree?
I also have the umbilical cable and PCB board that make it an "external drive".
My other questions are, would it plug straight in the A1200NG and be usable ? or would I need to bodge/chain to the Controller board ? I don't know if the drive is modified.
Meantime I'll start looking for the case..... lol.

Is it a standard PC drive? have you tried it in Amiga as DF0:
As it may need modding to work as Amiga drive.

I can't at the moment. No working Amiga.
I've had it working in an A1200 externally connected to the floppy port (before my Amiga tinkering stopped) . I am assuming that the PCB (pictured)is what does the clever bit (making the drive function as an Amiga floppy AND providing connection via cable to External Port) I've no idea whether it is modified or not. I've seen reports saying not.

This is what I was thinking. Never had that type of drive before. So not sure.
