Hi :)
My Amiga 2000 always shows these “ghost” drives on the Workbench (see attached photo). This happens even when no expansion cards are installed — just the bare A2000 booting from the single DF0: floppy drive.
Any idea what might be causing it?
Thank you very much for your help!

Normally on happens, when there is an issue with one of the CIA chips.
You tried reseating them?

Hi, thank you for your help!
OK, I tried (I also cleaned them a little with isopropyl alcohol), but no changes. These BAD boys are still there :/

What happens if you swap the CIA's around? (don't worry, they are the same chips).
Also, if you havent already, you could try reseating all pluggable chips.

Reseated all the socketed chips (apart the Fat Agnus aka Fat Lady because I don't have the correct extractor tool here with me) and swapped the CIAs.
Then I tried another floppy drive from my Amiga 600. It's the drive!
I've never seen a floppy drive that "generates" ghost DF* units, very strange ::)
