Hi everyone,
I’ve just spent my first few hours with the A1200NG and got OS3.2.3 up and running.
However, I’m running into an issue: whenever I start a WHDLoad game, the sound gets messed up whenever I move the USB mouse.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
CPU boost on and off
JIT on and off
Starting Workbench from a directory
Testing with an older OS3.1.4 installation on a CF card full drive
The result is always the same: as soon as I move the mouse quickly, the sound stutters badly and goes completely out of sync. If I leave the mouse alone, the sound goes back to normal. This happens regardless of whether it’s a game or a demo.
-
Another Test: WHDLoad Games directly from Amibench have the same issue. On mouse movement sound is stutters, have seen cpu icon goes over 50+ and is yellow. My Testgame is Take EM Out, other Games shows same issue
-
an now a test from a whdload from the A1200NG Menu with imported whdload game -> same issue
Games with Joystick only no problems sound ok, but directly on mouse movement on games with mouse support
-
Have you tried a different power supply? I had this with all things WHDLoad until I changed it.
-
That's interesting, I hadn't thought of that yet. Which power supply would work for it? Do you have a link or a model name?
-
Hey,
Looks to be a Lenovo 65W power supply - adlx65lc3d
It seems to be the only one I have that doesn't cause the sound issue. Not sure if there's something else at fault, as the other supplies I have are the same spec, just don't work!
-
Ok, found a Working 60w 5A, same issue. Have testet on Rear Audio and HDMi wiith Games and Sounds, per Hippoplayer. Sounds Stucks at Mouse Movement. This is definitely a Big Bug.
-
You'd hope the A600GS being very picky with its power supplies is a bug, not a feature! I'm surprised more people aren't having this issue.
-
OK , found the issue, not the PSU ->The Mouse himself is the problem . Have test Logitech G Series wireless ->Sound Crackle, have test Sharkoon Gaming Mouse ->Crackle ->Have Test oldest Mouse that I find ->Microsoft Intellli/Wheel Mouse Optical USB1.1 ->Works Smooth no sound issues, all plays very well
-
How strange. I get the problem regardless of keyboards, mice, joysticks etc
-
Not sure if it's a quirky setup issue or something, but when I switch from jack to HDMI for sound, the audio playback is god awful stuttering and slow. Is there a known fix? I have a feeling this was discussed somewhere before, but I can't find it.
-
Whilst testing this a while back I had no problems, except once when switching to jack from HDMI I got odd high frequency fast playback, even inthe main a600gs gui. It fixed itself after playing the video trailer. If yoy happen to have the opposite effect and not something else try that.
Other wise restart machine? Enable startup sound too,
-
I'll try and different combination of things and see what happens. It only seems to be when plugged into this display. Unless that's the culprit?
I guess I'll find out
-
Ah it was. Refresh rate!
-
What was the rate? Lower rates probably don't im prove things but higher ones might make them worse ....
-
It was slow at 60 on two TVs, speedy on 50. Not sure how 50 will go with the monitor. Will test
-
Hmm I was expecting you to be saying a higher rate than that, run at 60 here with no issues, poss very small improvement at 50
