Title: ZORRO Busboard Curious
Post by: jaesonk on May 25, 2025, 06:45:08 PM
Just wondering about busboard options, if any, for Amiga consoles and other systems.

You can add a ZORRO busboard to the A1200 (and A500/A1000s), can a CD32 be expanded with a ZORRO busboard?

What about CDTV and A600 systems?

Has anyone done a reverse mediator, to add ZORRO slots to a Mac/PC PCI bus, or PPC Amiga boards with PCI?

For the A3000 and A4000 you can get something called a Prometheus board. Latest is the Firebird Prometheus. I have 2 of these from Hese which are revision 1.0 and 1.1.

As for PPC PCI. Then yes this is already a thing on Amigas thanks to the sonnet library which is being updated and can be found over in the EAB forum. I have an Apocalypse PCI PPC setup.

Thanks.  Regarding PCI, I'm curious about whether or not anyone has explored adding a ZORRO busboard to a system that only has PCI, rather than adding PCI to Amiga.  Prometheus & Mediator give big box Amiga PCI.  Is there are reverse option?  If you ran Amiga emulation on a PC or Mac, could add a ZORRO bus to use Amiga cards.
